The 2.5 Litre Tasman Series
was an annual event consisting usually of 8 Races split between New Zealand
and Australia, that ran between 1964 & 1969.
The Series
attracted the cream of international talent including such
greats as Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart & Graham Hill amongst
many others. Australian legend Jack Brabham was a regular
competitor as were the renowned Kiwi trio Denny Hulme, Bruce
McLaren and Chris Amon.
Until the 3.0 Litre Formula One was introduced in 1966 it
was the fastest road racing competition in the World.
This site is devoted to those glorious days when
antipodean hot-shoes could mix it with the best
international motorsport had to
offer, when Grand Prix Superstars let their hair down and enjoyed both the tight competitive racing and the
laidback 'Down Under' lifestyle.
With many contributions from notable authors and people
who were there, The site consists of individual Race
Reports, Details on the Cars, Profiles of the Circuits and
also Profiles on the many men who took part in the Series
both behind the wheel and behind the scenes.
That is not all. There is also the 'Other Stuff' section
which contains journeys of classic
Australian circuits
as they are today, and other items of interest.
I hope you enjoy the site. Any suggestions, corrections
and especially contributions are more than welcome.
The site is a continual work in progress so make sure you
visit often to see the latest articles etc.

Apologies for the lack of updates. Work and Personal Concerns have been
sapping all of my time. I'm still maintaining the site, but at the moment that
is about all.
Cheers
