The 1964 Tasman Series
 
The dawn of a truly great era, 1964 was the first year of the 8 race Tasman Championship Series. At the time it could not have been imagined the greatness that lay ahead.
Points were awarded for the first six places as follows: 9, 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1.
Drivers had to compete in the Australian and New Zealand Grand Prix and could add the points won in any two of the other three races ran in each country.
Tasman Formula cars had to be, Naturally Aspirated of less than 2500cc and run on 100/130 grade Avgas.
