The 1967 Tasman Series

The 4th year of the Tasman Championship consisted of three races in New Zealand and four in Australia.

The difficulties many of the European teams had faced in 1966 with the new 3 Litre Formula, placed more of their focus on the Tasman Series than ever before as it provided an excellent opportunity for race testing.

Brabham and BRM put a great deal of effort into the Series. Lotus whom were busy with the new Type 49 (though they did debut the new Type 48 later in the Series) sent R14 the last Type 33 to be built and a minimal team comprising of Clark and a couple of mechanics.

It's a mark to Jim Clarks driving genius that he managed to take the Series, with an obsolete car and very little in the way of spares.
